As a professional choir director, I regularly remind my choir about The VoiceCare Network and the role that Axel Theimer's unique and transforming choir directing pedagogy has had upon my music career. After just one week singing with Dr Theimer at Lutherridge over 25 years ago, and carefully noting all his brilliant pedagogical techniques for choir blend and other important concepts, my choir directing technique and approach to choral blend changed permanently and immeasurably. In truth, that week with Axel made me the director I am today, more so than the two college degrees I earned. He transformed me in that week from an organist who reluctantly led a choir to a master choir director who leads retreats and has had a rather notable career since. God Bless You, Axel. I was hoping to hear some of that fantastic new pipe organ...

Is it me or does the idea of diversity and inclusivity seem missing from this csb sju Christmas message? Where is the representation of different races, cultures, backgrounds, orientations, etc all of whom may celebrate Christmas in different ways. This seems like a video representing white traditional values and not what a modern university should be presenting.

I have so much gratitude to Theimer for the gift of song, his adherence to perfection and beauty, and for so many great memories. Singing in his choir in the Great Hall is still one of the best and deepest memories of my life. You brought out the music in all of us. Thank you! And what beautiful work here with this video! Thank you for putting this together!

This is a tremendous tribute to a very talented, dedicated and gifted man, who inspires all of us Bennies and Johnnies, from the very first day that Axel came to campus. I remember hearing that he had been in the Vienna Boys' Choir and that's the reason I signed up for all college choir! It has been a blessing to see and hear Axel and students at various events over the years. I took young nieces who grew up to become CSB Alumni to concerts at the Basilica. Thank you to all who made this tribute happen. Thank you, Axel, for making music with and for us all. Your life is an absolute good. How I still appreciate you. God bless you. Linda CSB '83
